The original 1981 supernatural thriller directed by Andrzej Żuławski was never a mainstream box office hit, instead earning its enduring reputation through underground fandom and cult status in arthouse genre cinema. By slotting the reimagining into mid-June, Paramount is pairing rising star talent with high-concept horror in a direct counter-programming move against family-friendly summer fare.
Star-Studded Cast and Behind-the-Scenes Production Team
Callum Turner and Margaret Qualley will lead the cast as the troubled couple at the center of the narrative. In Parker Finn’s new take on the story, Turner plays a spy whose wife begins exhibiting alarming, violent behavior after requesting a divorce.
