The encounter at the Utilita Bowl produced a below-par score of 126-7 after 100 balls from the home side. Laura Wolvaardt led the charge as top scorer with 35 runs, supported by Jemimah Rodrigues with 32 off 22 balls and opener Maia Bouchier adding 31 off 22.
West Indies star Hayley Matthews disrupted the home side’s momentum with brilliant off-spin, finishing with figures of 4-22 to tear through the Brave’s middle order. Matthews then matched her bowling impact with the bat, scoring 32 off 28 deliveries before Izzy Wong removed her with a figure of 1-20.
Rodrigues also praised the tactical approach on the pitch, noting that the conditions required disciplined stroke play. She added in her remarks to Sky Sports that what sets them apart is the calmness and that they kept believing, pointing out that it was a tricky wicket and that if you hit good lengths, it becomes tough to hit boundaries.

MI London’s pursuit stayed alive through a fifty-partnership between captain Hollie Armitage, who contributed 27, and Danni Wyatt-Hodge. That partnership steered the visitors close to the target, leaving them needing just eight runs off the final five balls.
Alice Davidson-Richards provided a key fielding moment earlier by leaping to take a catch off Lizelle Lee. However, the match hinged entirely on the closing sequence.
Lauren Bell restricted MI London to six runs in a nervy final over. The sequence left Wyatt-Hodge needing four runs from the very last delivery. Bell prevented her England team-mate from finding the boundary, securing a nervy one-run victory.
