Amazon Listings Reveal Early Pixel 11 Colorways
Google is set to unveil the Pixel 11 family on August 12. Ahead of this showcase event, Amazon listings have surfaced that appear to be placeholders or drafts for the upcoming devices. These listings, which are sold and shipped by Amazon and show as part of the “Google Store” on the platform, have provided an early look at the base model in three distinct colorways.

The color options identified in these listings present a unique discrepancy. The titles of the listings name the colors Obsidian, Hibiscus, and Pistachio. However, the descriptions within the same listings name them Midnight, Fuchsia, and Moss. The second set of names aligns with previous leaks suggesting that a fuchsia model was on the way. Reports from 9to5Google, by way of their sister site 9to5Toys, noted that these potential placeholders depict one smartphone in a bold magenta and another in a rosy peach hue, with the publication observing that the specifications in the listings contain convincing details.
Hardware Refinements and Pro Dimensions
Beyond the color variants, the broader Pixel 11 lineup is taking shape through various leaks. CAD-based renders of the Pixel 11 have been circulating, and the Pixel 11 Pro has since received the same treatment. The Pixel 11 Pro features a redesigned camera island that maintains the oval shape of its predecessor but is now covered with dark glass entirely, removing the colored portion found previously.
Regarding dimensions, the Pixel 11 Pro allegedly measures 152.7 x 71.8 x 8.4 mm, making it 0.1 mm less tall, 0.2 mm less wide, and 0.1 mm thinner than the Pixel 10 Pro XL.
A Slimmer Foldable Strategy
The Pixel 11 Pro Fold is also expected to be part of the upcoming generation, aiming to address long-standing issues associated with Google’s foldables. The device is set to be thinner and lighter than its predecessors, while incorporating a new 2nm Tensor G6 platform that is expected to be much faster. There is also an expectation that the new hardware will allow the device to take better photos.

The Tensor G6 Performance Debate
Despite these potential upgrades, the Tensor G6 has become a subject of intense debate on tech forums. Some observers have argued that the G6 appears to be a regression, noting that it comes up short on CPU cores and that its graphics hardware is past its prime. Benchmark enthusiasts have expressed concerns that the chip is outmatched by offerings from competitors like Qualcomm or Apple. However, other perspectives suggest that Google is focusing its silicon development on the specific needs of the Pixel experience rather than raw benchmark figures.
Learning from the Pixel 10 Pro Fold
The context for these changes stems from the performance of the previous generation. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold was noted for having the best software and unique extras, yet it was not the fastest foldable, did not have the same battery longevity as its Chinese rivals, and did not capture the best photos. Last year’s Pixel 10 Pro Fold offered few new features beyond better water resistance, the Tensor G5, and a larger battery, leaving it largely identical to the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. With other brands, such as Samsung, rolling out noticeable design changes, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold is positioned as the iteration intended to refine the foldable experience for the brand.
While these leaks provide a detailed look at what may be coming in August, it is worth noting that Amazon is a platform full of third-party sellers, and these early listings should be approached with a grain of salt. Nevertheless, with the official launch now roughly one month away, the pieces of the Pixel 11 family portrait are beginning to align.
