Four women have accused Oscar-winning actor and Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman Jared Leto of criminal sexual conduct occurring when they were teenagers between 2002 and 2016. The allegations are detailed in a new BBC documentary titled Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret, adding to prior misconduct claims which the actor has denied.
Ten Women Come Forward in BBC Documentary
The BBC documentary Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret features testimony from 10 women alleging misconduct by the 54-year-old actor and musician as part of an investigative report published on Wednesday, July 29, 2026. Nine of the 10 women are sharing their stories publicly for the first time.
Four of the individuals accuse Leto of criminal sexual conduct taking place when they were underage teenagers, with the alleged incidents spanning from 2002 to 2016. According to the reporting, the broadcaster corroborated several of these accounts through photographs, messages, and testimony from family members and friends who were told about the encounters when they happened.
Motel Incidents, Underage Encounters, and Grooming Allegations
Specific accounts in the documentary describe encounters during the actor’s 30s and 40s. One accuser, identified as Isabel, stated she was 17 in 2002 when Leto allegedly assaulted her in a Las Vegas motel bathroom while he showered and used her hand to masturbate.

Another accuser alleged she had sex with Leto at his California home when she was 17, which under state law constitutes statutory rape while Leto was 34. She claimed they discussed the state age of consent of 18, and that Leto shrugged off concerns about it.
A third woman alleged that Leto threatened her with sexual assault when she was 19 following a 2013 concert at London’s O2 Arena. A fourth accuser stated she was groomed by the musician at age 16 through repeated sexually explicit phone calls, adding that she was subsequently sent a non-disclosure agreement to block her from speaking about their relationship which she refused to sign and the broadcaster subsequently reviewed.
Backstage Encounters and Prior Allegations
Additional women described inappropriate behavior at music events and via telephone. One woman alleged that at age 14, Leto made a lewd comment about her chest during an autograph-signing session and ordered a security guard to take her backstage, where her mother confronted him after he repeated the remark. Four other women stated they received strange and sexually explicit telephone calls from the performer when they were younger.

Two anonymous former crew members who worked with Leto’s rock band Thirty Seconds to Mars told documentary staff that employees felt uneasy regarding the singer’s interactions with underage girls, noting that he frequently invited them backstage to dressing rooms or recording spaces. I think everyone thought the age gap was way too big,
one crew member stated.
The current disclosures follow an investigative report published in June 2025 by Air Mail, in which nine women accused Leto of sexual impropriety.
Unresolved Response and Career Context
Representatives for the actor have not responded to requests for comment regarding the television investigation. When the previous allegations emerged in 2025, Leto’s representatives denied all accusations of sexual misconduct or inappropriate relationships.
The actor won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for the 2014 film Dallas Buyers Club and has fronted Thirty Seconds to Mars since the band’s formation in 1998.
