Trump Media & Technology Group is charging institutional customers up to $100,000 a month for high-speed access to Truth Social posts. The data feed delivers presidential statements and platform updates in milliseconds, drawing sharp ethical scrutiny from lawmakers and financial experts over potential market advantages.
Selling Speed on Truth Social
Trump Media & Technology Group is attempting to jump-start commercial growth by selling faster access to President Trump’s Truth Social posts for up to $100,000 a month. CEO Kevin McGurn informed investors that the company has already secured agreements with more than 10 customers for the data feed, known as the Truth Application Programming Interface, or Truth API.
High-frequency securities trading firms make up the primary customer base for the service. These institutional traders seek a competitive advantage by viewing the president’s posts milliseconds before they reach the general public on Truth Social. Contracts for the feed typically range from $60,000 to $100,000 monthly, according to company disclosures. The system provides automated delivery of posts from top accounts on the platform directly to client computers, bypassing standard web feeds.
Financial Pressures and Diversification Strategies
The push for data-feed revenue comes as the publicly traded parent company navigates steep financial losses and declining advertising revenue. Trump Media has never turned a profit since its founding in 2021. In its most recent financial report, the company posted second-quarter revenue of $1.67 million, representing an 89% increase from the prior period. However, losses ballooned tenfold to $238 million, largely driven by plunging values in the company’s cryptocurrency holdings.

Stock in the company, which trades under the ticker cbsnews.com, has fallen significantly since its market debut. Amid these declines, leadership has pursued various diversification efforts, including cryptocurrency treasury investments, patriotic exchange-traded funds, and a planned merger with fusion energy company TAE Technologies. McGurn described the energy merger as a rare chance to play a key role in securing America’s energy independence
during a call with Wall Street analysts.
Ethical Scrutiny and Congressional Pushback
The monetization of presidential communications has triggered immediate condemnation from ethics watchdogs and Democratic lawmakers. Critics argue that allowing investors to pay a company partially owned by the sitting president for expedited access to market-moving statements creates severe conflicts of interest.

Sen. Mark Warner introduced legislation that would ban social media companies from selling special access to government employee accounts that distribute market-moving information. Other lawmakers echoed those concerns. Sen. Richard Blumenthal characterized the arrangement as flagrant corruption, trading access to the White House for Trump’s self-enrichment.
Legal scholars raised similar objections. Kathleen Clark of Washington University School of Law argued that the venture represents an improper exploitation of government power.
Corporate Defense and Market Implications
Company executives defended the product as a standard industry practice. A Truth Social spokesperson dismissed outside criticism, stating that financial firms routinely pay for these types of feeds from social media platforms, including X and Reddit.

“We’re encouraged by the early demand for Truth API, and we look forward to rolling out the product to other sectors, including retail investors.”
Kevin McGurn, interim CEO of Trump Media & Technology Group
McGurn defended the ethical complaints as misguided,
emphasizing that the service merely transmits public posts fractionally faster. Industry analysts note that the fractional time advantage matters primarily to algorithmic and high-frequency trading systems rather than long-term investors. Dan Nathan, co-founder of RiskReversal and a CNBC contributor, observed that high-frequency systems react to market-moving statements instantly. So milliseconds make a lot.
They mean a whole heck of a lot, right?
Broader Economic Fallout and Public Reaction
The platform’s posts frequently address major national security and economic developments, including tariffs, foreign policy discussions involving Iran, and immigration enforcement actions. Because investors closely monitor these statements for potential impacts on inflation, oil prices, and Federal Reserve interest rate decisions, early access carries substantial financial value.
Media commentators expressed outrage over the intersection of presidential communications and corporate monetization. CNBC senior economics reporter Steve Liesman criticized the initiative sharply during an interview segment.
“For me, this announcement by the president makes me want to puke, literally puke.”

Trump Media confirmed that institutional rollout for the Truth API is scheduled to begin next month, with ongoing talks underway with cloud computing firms, artificial intelligence companies, and news organizations to expand the data feed’s subscriber base.
