Carson City Prepares for 221 Entries as the 2026 Nevada Day Parade Steps Off
Saturday is the day of days in Carson City as the 2026 Nevada Day Parade kicks off at 10 a.m. on Oct. 31, bringing hundreds of marching bands, first responders, and community groups onto Carson Street. According to Carson Now, this year’s parade lineup features 221 entries.
Spectators lining the route can pick up the official Nevada Day Parade Guide stationed directly along Carson Street or handed out by Carson Now staff on Saturday morning. Digital attendees can also track the complete lineup through the official Nevada Day mobile app as units step off from their designated assembly zones.
Grand Marshals Lead a Century-Old Tradition
Leading the 221 entries down Carson Street is Grand Marshal Steven Saylor, a longtime Nevada-based creative professional, arts educator, and nonprofit leader with more than 50 years of experience supporting community culture and historic preservation. As Nevada Day, Inc. noted, Saylor founded Evergreen Studio and formerly directed the Comstock Foundation for History and Culture.
Alongside him, the parade honors the late Robert “Bobby” Bean as the 2026 Legacy Grand Marshal. Bean was a devoted Carson City community leader and longtime member of the Nevada Day Parade Board of Directors who anchored local traditions like the annual Easter Egg Hunt.
Organization Across Ten Staged Divisions
Staging spans ten distinct geographic assembly points to manage the massive volume of participants.
Subsequent divisions stretch across Adaline Street, East Long Street, West Long Street, East Adams Street, West Adams Street, East Park Street, West Park Street, Fleischmann Way, and East John Street. These blocks house everything from marching bands like Carson High’s Blue Thunder to veterans’ groups and tribal delegations.
As the units make their way down the historic corridor, local businesses, emergency services, and equestrian groups round out a morning that anchors northern Nevada’s annual statehood celebration.
