Providence Registered Nurses Open Nominations for Seven Bargaining Unit Officer Positions
The AaNA announced the kickoff of the 2026 Providence Registered Nurses Bargaining Unit Officers Election, calling on union members at Providence Alaska Medical Center to step into leadership roles.
The upcoming election fills seven distinct positions within the bargaining unit. Eligible members can run for vice president, secretary, health and safety officer, PRN representative to the AaNA Labor Council, or one of three grievance officer roles.
All successful candidates will begin two-year terms on January 4, 2027, with those terms running through January 2029.
Requirements and Deadlines for Prospective Candidates
Running for office is open exclusively to AaNA union members in good standing who are represented within the Providence Registered Nurses bargaining unit at PAMC. Union-represented non-members and fee payers hold no voting rights and are ineligible to run.

Candidates must complete and submit the appropriate Consent to Serve form by 11:59 PM on November 16, 2026. Fillable PDF forms for each specific position are accessible through the organization’s platform. Completed documents must be uploaded directly to AaNA’s document submission page.
Candidates can request an automated confirmation email by checking the designated box on the submission form and providing a valid personal email address. For questions or technical assistance regarding nominations, AaNA Programs Director Andrea Nutty is available at an@*se.org.

Union Members Vote Online from November 20 to December 14
Once nominations close, voting will take place via a secure online platform. Balloting opens on November 20 and runs through December 14, 2026.
Eligible voters include all AaNA union members represented in the Providence Registered Nurses bargaining unit at PAMC who maintained good standing as of October 20, 2026. Voting instructions and invitations will be delivered via postal mail, while members with a valid personal email address on file will also receive an electronic ballot link.
Members needing to update their contact information must correct their mailing address in employer records and also email an@*se.org prior to the ballot mailing date. Additional voting details will be published before the polls officially open. In situations where all candidates run unopposed, those individuals may be declared elected by acclamation without a formal ballot distribution.
