A 40-year-old Concord man already out on bail for domestic violence charges has been accused of stabbing his wife to death inside their family home, prosecutors said in charging documents filed in Contra Costa County Superior Court.
The Discovery on Panoramic Drive
Concord police officers responded to the 2300 block of Panoramic Drive shortly before 9 p.m. Friday following a 911 call reporting a violent disturbance involving a man and a knife. Inside the residence, responding units discovered Thomas Iovenitti and his wife, Alisha Iovenitti, both unresponsive and suffering from stab wounds. Alisha Iovenitti was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators quickly turned their focus to her husband. Court records show that Thomas Iovenitti was taken into custody on a murder charge following the incident.
Prior Charges and the Terms of Release
At the time of the fatal attack, Iovenitti was out of custody after posting a $1,000 bond tied to a domestic violence case filed against him in May. That earlier criminal complaint included felony charges for assault with a deadly weapon, assault by means of force likely to produce great bodily injury, corporal injury to a spouse, and false imprisonment.

As a condition of his release in that spring proceeding, the court had issued a strict stay-away order prohibiting Iovenitti from having any contact with his wife or returning to the residence on Panoramic Drive.
Iovenitti remains held in custody without bail on the new murder charge. He is scheduled to appear in Contra Costa County Superior Court for his arraignment on Wednesday.
