A Life Remembered: Services Planned for Debra Rae Gage of Hudsonville
Debra Rae Gage of Hudsonville passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 28, 2026, at the age of 71.
Beyond the clinic, her world centered on her faith and the large family she and her husband built together.
She is survived by Stephen, her husband of 49 years, alongside their children: Christy and her husband Derk Zwart, Matthew and his wife Sharrie, and Jenni and her husband Danny Moore. Her six grandchildren—Dylan, Chloe, Claire, Hayley, Eildert, and Owen—were the recipients of her unconditional love. She is also remembered by her sisters, Vickie Werkema and Kim Heuvelman with husband Rick, and her mother-in-law, Ruth Gage, as well as a large extended family of in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Gage was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Shirley Wolf; her father-in-law, Marvin Gage; and her brothers-in-law, Dennis Werkema and Corry Cookingham.

For twenty-one years, Gage fought a courageous battle against cancer. Throughout more than two decades of medical treatments and uncertainty, she displayed extraordinary perseverance that became an enduring source of inspiration for her family and community.
