From Heavy Rigs to Miniature Wooden Toys
In retirement, he channeled his working days into woodworking, finding immense joy in crafting wooden toys. He specialized in miniature trucks—like the ones he spent many years driving up and down Vancouver Island.
Quiet Nights Drift Fishing Off Orlebar Point
When he wasn’t in his workshop, Orville could be found near the water. He loved fishing, whether spending calm quiet nights drift fishing off Orlebar Point or spending time off Bamfield with his fishing partner, John. He also leaves behind many happy fishing memories shared with family and friends.
Simple Pleasures on the Front Deck
At home, his routine reflected the simple pleasures of everyday life. Being surrounded by loved ones meant the world to him, followed by relaxing on the front porch following yard chores, savoring a cold beer, and catching the Blue Jays games on television.
Family Members Mourn Following Quiet Life
Orville is survived by his loving wife Susan of more than 60 years, his sons Stephen and Dwayne (Heather), granddaughter Taylor and his brother Roy (Marg). He was predeceased by his mother (Grace), father (Maurice) and his 5 sisters.
