New England Patriots wide receiver A.J. Brown and running back TreVeyon Henderson have been downgraded from questionable to out for Sunday’s matchup against the host Miami Dolphins, according to Field Level Media.
The Practice Field Setbacks in Foxborough
The Patriots confirmed the roster changes on Saturday after both players missed consecutive practices on Thursday and Friday. Field Level Media reported that offensive tackle Marcus Bryant was also ruled out for the AFC East clash at Hard Rock Stadium, remaining on injured reserve despite not receiving an injury designation on Friday.
Henderson missed practices due to an illness that struck during the week of Miami preparation. The running back, drafted 38th overall out of Ohio State in 2025, enters the weekend with 203 rushing yards, 45 receiving yards, and one touchdown across 57 touches this fall. His absence leaves Rhamondre Stevenson and Corey Kiner to anchor the backfield depth chart alongside remaining active options.

Out wide, Brown’s absence compounds a thin receiver group. The veteran pass catcher has played 101 out of 122 offensive snaps since returning from injured reserve, catching six passes for 75 yards in two starts. A knee flare-up compounded his ongoing recovery from the high-ankle sprain he sustained in the season opener on Sept. 9 against the Seattle Seahawks.
Head coach Mike Vrabel addressed the fluctuating status of his player during Friday’s media availability.

Vrabel told reporters on Friday that Brown’s status was questionable, like some other players, and that the team would see how he came in the following day to make a decision.
Injuries Force Personnel Changes for Both Teams
With fellow wideouts Romeo Doubs and Mack Hollins currently residing on injured reserve, New England moves forward with a sparse receiving corps featuring DeMario Douglas, Efton Chism III, and Kyle Williams. Meanwhile, the Miami Dolphins face their own personnel challenges ahead of the 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff.

Miami will play without offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor. The No. 12 overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft remained sidelined through three straight practices while clearing the league’s concussion protocol, forcing adjustments up front for the hosts.
For the Patriots, line combinations and defensive rotations remain under scrutiny as the team chases a crucial divisional victory on the road. With Brown and Henderson officially sidelined alongside Bryant, Vrabel's squad will rely on its remaining depth to handle the Hard Rock Stadium environment.
