Tampa, 24, initially went down with a knee injury on just his fifth special teams snap of Week 1. After returning to practice in Week 7, he steadily progressed until logging full participation throughout the week. It was noted that while Tampa figures to remain fourth in the pecking order initially behind Marlon Humphrey, Nate Wiggins, and occasional rotational snaps from Chidobe Awuzie, his specific skill set could eventually carve out a role within defensive coordinator Jesse Minter’s zone scheme.
Trenches Fortified Amid Injuries
Sunday’s roster moves extend beyond the secondary, addressing critical vulnerabilities in the trenches. Right guard Vega Ioane is sidelined with a knee injury, and outside linebacker Tavius Robinson is out with a pectoral issue. To help bridge the gap, the Ravens elevated Chuma Edoga and Adisa Isaac from the practice squad.

This transaction marks Edoga’s third and final standard practice squad elevation. Under league rules, if the Ravens want Edoga to appear in another game for Baltimore this season, they must sign him directly to the active roster. Meanwhile, Isaac made his season debut last week, though his playing time was restricted exclusively to special teams. Team brass must soon decide whether to keep burning Rucker’s practice squad elevations or grant either player a permanent active roster spot.
The Stakes for Sunday
Facing a high-powered Buffalo offense requires maximum depth across both lines of scrimmage and disciplined coverage on the boundary. With defensive rotation pieces recovering from injuries, the immediate availability of Tampa, Edoga, and Isaac gives coaching staff vital flexibility. Whether these depth pieces translate into defensive stops or sustained protection against Buffalo remains one of the afternoon’s defining questions.
