Wales international winger Cameron Congreve is leaving Swansea City for Belgian top-flight club Westerlo in a seven-figure transfer deal. The 22-year-old academy product departs after making 19 senior appearances for the Championship side following a loan spell at Scottish club Dundee.
Swansea City has sanctioned the permanent exit of one of its brightest academy talents rather than keep him in South Wales for the 2026-27 campaign.

The transfer follows a breakout period for the Welsh winger. Congreve impressed during a loan spell at Scottish Premiership side Dundee during the previous season, where he netted three goals across 36 games. That performance built on an earlier loan stint at Bromley during the 2024-25 season, where he scored six times in 47 appearances.
His strong club form caught the attention of national selectors, earning the 22-year-old his first senior international caps during June friendlies against Ghana and Romania. Although observers anticipated he could challenge for a regular first-team spot at Swansea for the 2026-27 season, the Championship club opted to accept the substantial bid from Europe.

The agreement between Swansea City and Westerlo carries several notable clauses designed to protect the selling club’s long-term interests. The transfer commands a seven-figure fee upfront, supplemented by performance add-ons and a sell-on percentage.
