Al-Ahly goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shenawy returned to individual training after recovering from injury as the squad prepares during the international break. Head coach Hussein Ammouta led a tactical session ahead of upcoming fixtures, including a friendly against Misr El-Makkasa and matches in the Cairo Capital Cup and Egyptian Premier League.

Al-Ahly returned to training at the El-Tetsh Stadium under the direction of manager Hussein Ammouta. Goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shenawy appeared on the training pitch after recovering from an injury that kept him out of Egypt’s national team camp.

El-Shenawy completed individual drills alongside Hamza Alaa, Yassin Abdel Hamid, and Mohamed El-Sayed under the supervision of the goalkeeping coach before joining team ball work.

Al-Ahly Schedules Friendly Matches and Prepares for Tournament Opener

Ammouta used the international window to evaluate squad depth through friendly matches. Al-Ahly opened its friendly schedule by defeating Libyan side Al-Ittihad Al-Misrati with a 4–2 scoreline. Yassin Marei, Hussein El-Shahat, Ahmed Reda, and Sofiane Ben Jedida scored the goals for Al-Ahly in that match.

The technical staff arranged a second friendly against Misr El-Makkasa to conclude the preparation period. Following the international break, Al-Ahly opens its Group 3 campaign in the Cairo Capital Cup against Petroleum Asyut at Al-Salam Stadium on October 7. The group also includes Al-Sharqia ENPI, El Gouna, and Al Mokawloon Al Arab.

Squad Rotation and Youth Integration Ahead of the Cairo Derby

To cope with international absences, Al-Ahly promoted seven youth players to the senior training group: Zidane Nagih, Mohamed El-Sayed, Yassin Mohamed, Mohab Wael, Omar Abu Ghazala, Abdel Rahman Ramy “Mano”, and Ahmed El-Sheikh. Reporting indicates that Ammouta plans to rest several key starters against Petroleum Asyut to keep them fresh for the upcoming league fixture.

Goalkeeper Hamza Alaa is expected to start against Petroleum Asyut as part of the rotation policy. Following the cup fixture, Al-Ahly faces Zamalek on October 11 in the sixth round of the Egyptian Premier League.
