Dubai Design Week returns for its 12th annual edition from November 3 to 8, 2026, at Dubai Design District. Running under the patronage of Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the festival highlights how design fosters community connection and creative dialogue amid rapid global shifts.

The upcoming festival brings together designers, architects, and creative practitioners from around the globe for a packed program of exhibitions, commissions, installations, talks, workshops, and interactive events. Strategic partnerships anchor the event, uniting the festival with Dubai Design District and receiving backing from Dubai Culture to reinforce the emirate’s standing as a global creative hub.

Dubai Culture and Tecom Group Aligning With Strategy 2033

Local cultural and business leaders emphasize that the annual gathering serves as a critical engine for the region’s creative economy. Khadija Al Bastaki, senior vice president of Tecom Group at Dubai Design District, noted that the event provides an essential platform for emerging talent.

She added that the ongoing partnership drives creativity and empowers exceptional talent from across the world in alignment with the goals of the Design Sector Strategy 2033. Festival Leadership Explores Wider Roles for Design

Festival Director Natasha Carillo points out that contemporary challenges require collaborative approaches across multiple disciplines. Design goes far beyond the objects and spaces we create, influencing how we live, how our cities function, and how we respond to change, Carillo said, according to regional reporting on the event.

Dubai Design Week represents an opportunity to explore this broader role by bringing together different perspectives and forms of knowledge into a shared dialogue, as no single discipline or viewpoint can address these questions alone.

Downtown Design and Regional Showcases at Dubai Design District

Downtown Design, the region’s leading fair for contemporary and high-end design, runs from November 4 to 8. The flagship exhibition hosts international brands alongside regional talent, immersive experiences, and professional networking sessions. Notable international participants include German kitchen appliance brand Gaggenau, Italian glassmaker Venini, Italian outdoor furniture maker Ethimo, and Kohler, which presents a collaboration with Dubai-based architect Agata Kurzela.

Regional contributions feature Tashkeel’s Tanween design program, the Abu Dhabi Furniture Makers Fellowship, and Sharjah’s 1971 Design Centre working alongside Cilla Group. Family-run textile and antique house Iwan Maktabi debuts new works by UAE-based designer Nadine Kanso and Emirati designer Omar Al Gurg, drawing inspiration from Arabic calligraphy and traditional majlis memories.
