In parallel, a senior Iranian official speaking to Reuters indicated that the government in Tehran has decided to shift away from a defensive posture toward a fully offensive stance due to the deadlock in efforts to reach a permanent end to the war with the United States. The official warned that Iranian entities must prepare for escalating tensions in the Strait of Hormuz and the region, and that Tehran might launch a military attack in a timely manner and with precision to break the American naval blockade if diplomatic endeavors fail.
Furthermore, the senior Iranian official stated that Washington is required to implement all terms of the agreement within a new deadline set by Tehran lasting “a few weeks,” adding that execution of those terms will serve as a precondition for conducting further negotiations with the United States.
