Yemeni government forces have launched a widespread offensive dubbed “Dawn of Yemen,” reporting 1,732 precision strikes against Houthi military targets.
Scale of the “Dawn of Yemen” Offensive
The Yemeni Armed Forces have significantly escalated their military operations, moving from a strategy of containment to direct, wide-reaching offensives. The military reports that these actions have systematically disrupted the group’s ability to coordinate and receive reinforcements.
Frontline Developments in Ma’rib and Taiz
Field reports indicate that ground combat is concentrated in critical provinces, with the government focusing on regaining strategic high ground. Military units, supported by popular resistance fighters, have also breached defensive lines in northern and northwestern fronts.
Meanwhile, in Taiz, the military is conducting operations to liberate the Al-Wazi’iyah district. Military sources informed regional news outlets that they have identified specific “kill boxes”—military zones targeting Houthi supply lines in the eastern and western countryside of Taiz—to cut off reinforcement paths into the besieged city. The government reported that these operations have led to the destruction of five armored vehicles near the strategic Dhubab airport.
Regional Security and Humanitarian Impact
The conflict has spilled beyond Yemen’s borders, with the Saudi-led coalition reporting ongoing attempts by Houthi forces to target locations within Saudi Arabia. The coalition confirmed the interception of a ballistic missile directed at the city of Khamis Mushait, which hosts a major airbase, noting the militia’s persistent efforts to strike civilian and military targets.
The escalation has exacted a heavy toll on the civilian population. The World Health Organization has recorded deaths and injuries related to the conflict since August. Prime Minister Shaya Al-Zindani has directed the Ministry of Interior to prepare security arrangements for recovered areas, while the Ministry of Foreign Affairs works to secure international support for the "Dawn of Yemen" operation, citing the protection of Red Sea shipping lanes as a core objective.
