LeBron James’ tenure with the Los Angeles Lakers has concluded after eight seasons. The 41-year-old superstar will not be returning to the franchise for the upcoming season. James, who was born on December 30, 1984, remains the oldest active player in the NBA and holds the league record for most seasons played with 23, along with all-time records for games played, minutes played, and field goals made.
His production has remained historic even in the twilight of his career. James has accumulated 43,440 career points, a total that does not include his 8,521 playoff points—the most in NBA history. This output is significantly higher than the combined point totals of the 2025 NBA Draft class (22,272) and exceeds the total of the 2024 draft class, which has scored 41,407 points across 55 players.
