The global Warhammer 40,000 campaign centered on the Siege of Hive Death Mire has reached a definitive stalemate. Following two weeks of intense conflict, both the Imperial forces of Operation Imperator and the invading Ork armies have secured key battle zones, resulting in an impasse that has triggered a unique resolution for the campaign’s rewards.
Campaign Stagnation and Resolution
The campaign began with early momentum for the Imperium, which successfully defended the Tempestor Victorum wall in the first week and cleared resistance in The Cloisters battle zone during the second week. However, the final two battle zones—Hive Heart and the Gallow’s Spaceport—have fallen under the control of the forces led by the Ork Warboss Ghazghkull. With no clear winner emerging from the conflict, organizers have opted to grant both factions new detachments. According to campaign officials, the decision to reward both sides despite the lack of a decisive victor is intended to reflect the outcome of “untold death and destruction on both sides,” which was described as the most fittingly thematic conclusion for a Warhammer 40,000 conflict.

New Imperial Detachment: Vengeful Hosts
For the Space Marine defenders, the stalemate has unlocked the “Vengeful Hosts” detachment. This new ruleset is designed to represent avenging angels striking from the skies. The detachment includes an army rule allowing infantry equipped with jump packs to re-roll all “To Hit” rolls of 1 during the turn they ingress or charge. This ability is intended to enhance both shooting and assault phases, providing a tactical advantage that officials noted would be particularly effective for melee-focused armies, such as the Blood Angels.
Ultramarines Reinforcements
In addition to the detachment rules, the Imperial forces have been bolstered by the arrival of a new character model, Kaius Konorius. A hero of the Ultramarines, Konorius is a grizzled blademaster who served alongside Marneus Calgar and Chaplain Cassius as a neophyte. Following a near-fatal duel against Abaddon the Despoiler, Calgar summoned Konorius to serve as his personal champion. Konorius is depicted wearing armor reminiscent of the Victrix Honour Guard, a unit in which he previously served. He enters the fray armed with two blades named “Severance” and “Rebuke.” The miniature sculpt includes optional components, allowing players to build the character with or without a helmet.
Ongoing Participation and Rewards
While the primary campaign has reached a stalemate, the conflict for specific sectors continues. Players can still dedicate game results to the final stage of the campaign, which focuses on Hive Heart. Results for this zone can be reported through the My Warhammer online portal. Separately, the battle for the Gallow’s Spaceport remains active, with outcomes determined by results reported at local Warhammer stores. Participants who report their game results online remain eligible for a sweepstakes to win one of forty 1,000-point armies, consisting of either Space Marines or Ork miniatures. The campaign, which represents the first global participation event for the 11th edition of Warhammer 40,000, requires participants to be 18 or older and to reside in eligible territories.

Ork Armament Upgrades
Alongside the campaign developments, recent updates have provided new options for Ork units. The latest kits allow “the Boyz” to carry a combination of a slugga and a shoota, alongside upgraded weaponry including big shootas, rokkit launchas, and burnas, all within a single squad. The unit Nob also features expanded customization options, such as a kombi-skorcha, kustom choppa, power klaw, or a two-handed big choppa. These units are now supported by the addition of an ammo runt and a squig companion.
