Arada and Aldar Form 15 Billion Dirham Partnership in Abu Dhabi

The agreement marks a major strategic expansion for Sharjah-based Arada into the capital’s property sector. The partnership unites Aldar’s extensive land bank and established development footprint in Abu Dhabi with Arada’s track record in delivering large-scale master communities, according to corporate announcements.

The cornerstone of the collaboration is a strategic joint venture to develop a sprawling multi-use urban complex in Seih Sdeirah, situated along the border between Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Under the division of labor agreed upon by the developers, Arada will spearhead development management and construction operations for the Seih Sdeirah project. Meanwhile, both companies will collaborate jointly on commercial branding and the sales of individual residential units.

Strategic Land Acquisitions on Yas Island

Beyond the mainland master plan, Arada has acquired three designated residential plots from Aldar on Yas Island. Two of these waterfront parcels overlook the canal, bringing the total land area for the three plots to more than 27,500 square meters with a combined gross floor area approaching 130,000 square meters, according to corporate disclosures.

These acquisitions allow Arada to introduce its distinct lifestyle-focused residential communities directly into one of the capital’s premier modern destinations. The transaction also helps Aldar monetize a portion of its extensive land bank—which spans a vast territory—while delegating construction execution to an established partner.

Leadership Perspectives and Signing Ceremony

The partnership agreements were formalized in Abu Dhabi during a high-profile ceremony witnessed by Prince Khaled bin Alwaleed bin Talal Al Saud, Vice Chairman of Arada, and Talal Al Dhiyebi, Group Chief Executive Officer of Aldar. Jonathan Emery, CEO of Aldar Development, and Ahmed Alkhoshaibi, Group CEO of Arada, signed the formal documents.

"الدار" و"أرادَ" تبرمان شراكة استراتيجية بقيمة 15 مليار درهم لتطوير مشاريع كبرى في أبوظبي

This partnership brings together two leading UAE developers with complementary capabilities and a shared ambition to create high-quality destinations. The opportunities on Yas Island and at Seih Sdeirah establish a strong foundation for our collaboration with Arada, and we see significant potential to build on the partnership across sectors and geographies in the UAE.

The execution of these accords represents a calculated alignment during a period of evolving market dynamics. Analysts note that larger, well-capitalized developers increasingly turn to joint ventures and land-owner partnerships to handle shifting demand and rising construction and land costs.

Future Expansion Across the Emirates

The Yas Island and Seih Sdeirah projects constitute the initial phase of a broader bilateral strategy. Both developers intend to use this foundation to explore further commercial opportunities across different asset classes and geographic regions within the UAE, as outlined in regulatory filings.

With a development portfolio that now encompasses a massive valuation globally, Arada enters the Abu Dhabi market backed by diversified funding mechanisms, including plans to establish a fund management platform in Abu Dhabi Global Market to attract institutional capital.
