Egyptian actor Nabil Nour El-Din has detailed his decision to live at the Artists’ Care Home, managed by the Egyptian Syndicate of Professional Actors. Speaking with Egyptian media personality Esaad Younis, the actor explained that health issues and a desire not to burden his family prompted the move.

Health Struggles and the Decision to Move

With a career spanning over 150 artistic works, Nabil Nour El-Din addressed the reasons behind his step away from acting and his choice of residence. According to reporting from Cairo by Ahmed El-Reidi, the actor decided not to be a burden on his family after facing a medical emergency when he fell and lost consciousness in the street.

The actor realized the facility offered the necessary medical care for his condition. This realization led him to visit the residence personally to confirm its suitability, ultimately deciding to move in so he would not strain his relatives, despite initial objections from family members who were still alive at the time.

Clearing Social Media Misconceptions

Nour El-Din pushed back against rumors circulating on social media regarding himself and his fellow residents. Internet discussions have occasionally claimed that performers living at the facility lack families willing to accept or care for them. The actor dismissed these claims as incorrect, noting that he possesses sufficient financial resources to live elsewhere but deliberately chooses to reside among his peers.

Rather than causing friction or inconveniencing his siblings, Nour El-Din preferred to spend his time enjoying the company of fellow artists and friends at the care home.

Stepping Away From a Prolific Acting Career

The professional shift stems from persistent health challenges that began two years ago. Nour El-Din experienced a decline in his vision that currently has no medical treatment. This impairment made it impossible for him to read and memorize scripts properly, prompting him to stop working and decline roles, including an offer for Nelly Karim’s recent television series.

While he maintains a rich professional history, the actor explained that he no longer feels it is appropriate to rely on others to memorize his lines for him. The vision loss also accounts for his lack of response to recent messages from those attempting to reach him.
