Emergency responders arrived at the actor’s Missouri home after receiving a report about an unconscious man who was not breathing. Police noted that Kelker-Kelly had complained of chest pain before becoming unresponsive, and authorities found nothing suspicious at the scene. Paramedics and police officers administered life-saving measures, but those efforts were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead on the scene.

Emergency dispatch recordings captured the moments first responders rushed to the scene. A responding officer stated that a caller was unable to remove the patient from bed. An automated voice confirmed a cardiac arrest at the address while units were en route. Kyle Gaines, the division chief and public information officer for the St. Charles County Ambulance District stated that paramedics and first responders deployed advanced life-saving protocol techniques before the actor was pronounced dead. Law enforcement officers noted that his body was subsequently released by the Medical Examiner to a local funeral home.

Born on April 18, 1964, in Wichita, Kansas, the late actor grew up with a father who worked as a pathologist and a mother who was a nurse. Following his parents’ divorce when he was seven years old, he eventually lived with his father. Before launching his career in entertainment, he spent time in and out of colleges while studying acting and cultivating an appreciation for Shakespeare. His personal life included a marriage to Linda Rattner from 1988 until their divorce in 1992, followed by a marriage to fellow soap opera actor Miriam Parrish in 1997 that ended in divorce in 2013. He is reportedly survived by a daughter named Amelia Rose Kelly.

Daytime Television Stints on Days of Our Lives and Another World

His breakthrough arrived in 1992 when he joined Days of Our Lives to take over the role of Bo Brady from Peter Reckell. He portrayed the character across more than 586 episodes opposite Kristian Alfonso as Hope Brady and Lisa Rinna as Billie Reed.

Kelker-Kelly had previously earned the publication’s Outstanding Lead Actor award in 1994.

Villainous Turns on General Hospital and Life as a Pilot

Following his departure from daytime television’s main stage, Kelker-Kelly transitioned into television credits that included roles in “Jack’s Place,” “Touched by an Angel,” “Maybe This Time,” and “Rescue 77.” His tenure on General Hospital ran from 2001 to 2014, including guest appearances in 2002, 2003, and subsequent years, marking his final onscreen television credits.
