Internationally acclaimed artist Caledonia Curry—working professionally as Swoon—is heading to Wisconsin this November to serve as the fall 2026 Wyman Visiting Professor in Art at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.
Her residency brings a voice in contemporary public art directly to campus for hands-on student collaboration and a public lecture.
An Intensive Residency in Printmaking and Installation
Curry will be on campus from November 9 through November 12, participating in an intensive residency that bridges traditional printmaking and large-scale public installation.
During her stay, she will lead a workshop titled “The Rudiments of Street Art: Block Print, Stencil, Cut Paper and Paste.”
Alongside this workshop, she will collaborate directly with university students in a working studio experience to construct a collaged sculpture inside the Kleinpell Fine Arts gallery.
Techniques from Brooklyn to the Global Stage
Born in New London, Connecticut, and raised in Daytona Beach, Florida, Curry earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Pratt Institute in New York and maintains her practice in Brooklyn.

She is widely recognized as one of the first woman street artists to achieve international recognition.
Her portfolio extends far beyond the street art genre. As a classically trained printmaker, she has developed innovative techniques in large-scale relief printing, screen printing, and intricate papercutting.
Attend the Free Public Lecture in North Hall
For community members and students planning to attend, the event of her visit is a free public lecture scheduled for Wednesday, November 11.
The talk will run from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in room 222 of North Hall, located at 410 S. 3rd St. in River Falls.
Additional details regarding the residency can be obtained by contacting the UWRF Art Department directly at 715-425-3777 or by visiting the official Wyman Visiting Professor webpage.
