Freedom Truck Mobile Museum Visits Camp Gordon Johnston in Carrabelle

The Camp Gordon Johnston WWII Museum in Carrabelle, Florida, is set to host the Freedom Truck, a traveling exhibit designed to commemorate the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States. The mobile museum will be on-site from December 4 through December 6, with daily operating hours scheduled from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET.

This interactive experience is intended for visitors of all ages to explore the history of America’s founding. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on activities, including testing their historical knowledge and digitally signing the Declaration of Independence. The exhibit also features stories detailing the lives of 50 American heroes.

A Dual Historical Experience

The visit to the Freedom Truck offers a chance for families and history enthusiasts to engage with national history while also accessing the local military exhibits at the Camp Gordon Johnston Museum. The host site, located at 1873 Hwy 98 West, is situated directly across from Carrabelle Beach, a site historically significant for its use during World War II beach assault training.

Freedom Truck Schedules Upcoming Stops Nationwide

While the Carrabelle stop is confirmed for early December, the Freedom Truck maintains a broader national schedule as part of its tour. Prior to the Florida arrival, the exhibit visited locations including the Peterbilt Division Offices in Denton, Texas; Desperation Church in Warrior, Alabama; and a George Washington-themed event in Wilkesboro, North Carolina. Stops were also scheduled at Rose Stadium in Tyler, Texas; Cypress Christian School in Cypress, Texas; the Grand Canyon Visitors Center in Arizona; The First Academy in Orlando; the Granville, Tennessee heritage site; and PGA TOUR Headquarters in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. Immediately preceding the Carrabelle event, the truck is scheduled to be at Moxie Gymnastics and Cheerleading in Dripping Springs, Texas, from December 1 through December 6. As of this report, organizers have not provided details on specific programming beyond the established daily hours for the Carrabelle engagement.
