Foley Extends Eleventh Year as Championship Host
The Foley Sports Tourism Complex in Foley, Alabama, is set to host the Sun Belt Women’s Soccer Championship for the 11th consecutive year, with the conference officially announcing the 2026 postseason bracket on Sunday evening. All seven matches of the tournament will be broadcast on ESPN+.
James Madison and Old Dominion Share Regular Season Title
James Madison claimed the tournament’s No. 1 overall seed through a tiebreaker over Old Dominion after both squads finished the regular season as co-champions with 23 points each in the conference standings. This marks the Dukes’ second regular season title in the last three seasons, following an outright title and subsequent tournament championship in 2024. James Madison opens tournament play against No. 8 seed Southern Miss.
Old Dominion secured the No. 2 overall seed for the second year in a row after earning a share of its first Sun Belt regular season title. The Monarchs captured back-to-back tournament championships during their first two years in the conference in 2022 and 2023, and have advanced to the semifinals in each of the past two seasons. Old Dominion faces No. 7 seed Marshall in the opening round.
App State Secures Program-Best Seed
App State earned the No. 3 seed with 20 points in the conference standings, establishing the highest tournament draw position in program history. The Mountaineers square off against No. 6 seed Louisiana in the quarterfinals. Meanwhile, Georgia State grabbed the No. 4 seed by winning a three-way tiebreaker with South Alabama and Louisiana, who both finished with 17 points. Georgia State takes on No. 5 seed South Alabama.
Opening Day Quarterfinal Schedule Set
The tournament gets underway on Monday, November 9, with four quarterfinal matchups at the Foley Sports Tourism Complex. App State and Louisiana meet at 11 a.m. CT, followed by Old Dominion and Marshall at 1:30 p.m. CT. Georgia State and South Alabama play at 4:30 p.m. CT, and James Madison closes out the quarterfinal slate against Southern Miss at 7 p.m. CT.
Semifinals Scheduled for Wednesday Before Saturday Championship
The winners advance to the semifinals on Wednesday, November 11, with matches scheduled for 4 p.m. CT and 7 p.m. CT. The championship match takes place on Saturday, November 14, at 7 p.m. CT.
