Mazaj Cafe Brings Syrian Cafe Culture to Jordan Lane as Huntsville Sees Ten Openings and Two Closings

A pink exterior marks Maison Rose among a wave of business changes across the city, according to a recent business roundup by Hville Blast. That storefront is one of ten new openings and updates recorded this week in Huntsville, sitting alongside shifting retail spots and new arrivals.

Among the additions, Mazaj Cafe is preparing to open at 532 Jordan Lane NW, introducing what it describes as the city’s first Syrian cafe. The location plans to serve specialty coffee, teas, juices, pastries, and desserts designed to reflect traditional Syrian cafe culture, according to coverage by Homely Huntsville. An official opening date for the Jordan Lane storefront has not yet been announced.

Other retail and food developments include an update on the riverfront event center expansion at Ditto Landing, alongside physical storefront additions such as The Reset Studio, Kilwins, Marcus La Fleur Bookshop, and a relocation for L’Etoile Patisserie. The lineup also features Louisiana’s Hot Chicken, Grammy’s House on Jordan Lane, and Hometown Studio, a new craft workshop and cafe located at 525 Hughes Road in Madison.

Recent Closures Impact Local Dining and Retail

While the region gains new culinary and creative spaces, two notable businesses are stepping back. Brick & Tin, the farm-to-table restaurant located at 222 Washington St NE, has permanently closed. Operating since December 12, 2025, the downtown eatery maintained a 4.3-star rating on Google reviews for its menu of paninis, salads, soups, and grain bowls.

At the same time, jewelry retailer Venus Glamour announced on Sunday, November 1, that its physical Huntsville storefront will close its doors after November. The brand stated that its operations will transition to Nashville while continuing to appear through local pop-ups and markets.
