Nebraska Election Results Breakdown by County for Major Races and Initiatives

Nebraska Election Results Map and County Breakdown

Nebraska voters decided several high-profile races and constitutional questions, setting the state's political direction for the upcoming legislative sessions. KTIV reported the county-by-county breakdowns for major statewide races, detailing how local communities voted across the gubernatorial contest, the U.S. Senate race, and critical congressional district showdowns.

Beyond candidate matchups, the ballot featured policy measures that drew scrutiny.

Constitutional Amendment 1 Extends Legislative Term Limits

Voters decided on Constitutional Amendment 1, a measure designed to alter Article III, Section 12 of the Nebraska Constitution. The change extends term limits for state senators from two consecutive terms to three, allowing lawmakers to serve up to 12 consecutive years instead of the current eight-year limit.

Online Sports Betting Proposed Under Initiative 440 and 441

The ballot also included a pair of measures addressing digital wagering. Initiative Measure 440 proposed a constitutional amendment to permit mobile sports wagers through platforms operated by licensed racetrack casinos within Nebraska, amending Article III, Section 24 of the state constitution.

Accompanying it, Initiative Measure 441 served as the companion statutory measure to formally authorize and regulate online sports betting. This framework allows individuals to place mobile bets through licensed racetrack casino operators or their platform partners while establishing state regulatory oversight.

Initiative 442 Addresses Sports Team Designations

Voters considered Initiative Measure 442, a proposed constitutional requirement mandating that schools and colleges designate sports teams based on biological sex. Under the measure, teams designated for females would be closed to male students across all public K-12 schools, colleges, and private schools competing against public institutions.

Complete county-level vote counts for the gubernatorial, attorney general, and secretary of state races remain available through regional election tracking maps provided by KTIV.
