Each number on the jersey features a crack reflecting the Liberty Bell, tying Philadelphia history directly onto the ice.
The Philadelphia Flyers unveiled their new “Independence Edition” alternate uniform on Monday morning, CBS News reported, launching a gray-based look tied to America’s 250th anniversary and the National Hockey League and Fanatics’ Hometown Remix campaign.
Liberty Gray and Declaration Parchment on the Ice
For the first time in franchise history, the team will wear a jersey featuring a Liberty Gray base. Accent colors include Declaration Parchment alongside the team’s traditional Burnt Orange.
Six stripes on the sleeves symbolize the design of the Liberty Bell while marking the franchise’s 60th anniversary season. Within the stripes is lettering featuring a phrase from the bell’s inscription: “Proclaim Liberty Throughout All the Land Unto All the Inhabitants Thereof.”
Additional design elements include a Constitution wordmark placed inside the neck collar, matte helmets, and raised lines on the Flyers crest that mimic the Liberty Bell’s casting.
Jersey Availability and Game Schedule
Fans can purchase the new jerseys online immediately, with in-person sales beginning Tuesday at team stores inside Xfinity Mobile Arena.
The team debuts the uniforms on the ice Tuesday night against the Minnesota Wild. The full schedule for the Independence Edition sweaters spans winter and spring matchups:
