Nemours Children’s Health Clinical Internships Offer Two Open Roles Across Delaware and Florida Locations

Students looking to secure clinical placements in pediatric healthcare have two open roles currently available through Nemours Children’s Health, as reported by Intern Dock. The current internship opportunities span several areas and are mostly located in Delaware and Florida.

According to primary operational guidelines, accepted students can expect schedules ranging from approximately 30 to 40 hours per week, tailored to their specific educational program guidelines and clinical placement requirements. General department hours run Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., with select locations providing early morning 7:00 a.m. appointments or evening slots closing at 6:00 p.m.

Securing Local Housing and Meals During Clinicals

Onsite housing is not provided for students. Because the main hospital and satellite locations sit near several colleges and universities, local housing options may be available through individual schools or student housing and sublet services.

Food is available for purchase at the main hospital in Wilmington, supported by kiosks and vending areas for snacks and drinks outside cafeteria hours. Most locations supply refrigerators and microwaves for student and associate use alongside nearby dining alternatives.

Most therapists wear scrub pants or comfortable dress pants paired with a t-shirt or long-sleeve shirt and sneakers. All clothing must remain clean, well-groomed, and in good condition; items featuring graphics must depict an appropriate pediatric theme. Closed-toed shoes are mandatory, with socks required if footwear is removed. Jewelry must be kept to a minimum, avoiding dangling earrings or necklaces that patients could grab, and artificial nails are prohibited with natural tips kept under a quarter-inch long.

Driving Required Due to Limited Transit Options

Because public transportation options are limited, having a personal vehicle is recommended. Parking at the sites is free.

While inpatient therapy—including acute care and inpatient rehabilitation—operates over weekends, students are generally not expected to provide weekend care unless specific make-up days or hours are necessary. Individual schedules remain subject to adjustment based on staffing levels and patient care needs, with clinical instructors delivering individual schedules.
