New Richmond Middle School Investigates Second Threat in One Week
Officials in the New Richmond Exempted Village School District are investigating a second threat made this week toward the district’s middle school, WLWT reported. The district stated it was made aware of the threat directed at New Richmond Middle School around 7 p.m. Thursday.
The district did not release specific information on the threat itself. However, officials noted they are working with police and possess verifiable names to start a thorough investigation. They urged anyone with additional information to come forward. According to the district, the group chat connected to the alleged threat contained more than 40 phone numbers.
“Thank you to those who have reported already, and we ask you to be patient. Any specific information you share with us can be quickly passed onto law enforcement so they can do their work and keep us all safe,” the district said in a statement.
The district shared a tip line for community members to submit information. The Thursday incident follows an earlier online threat made earlier in the week, for which an eighth-grade student was charged.
