North Augusta is gearing up for a week of community activities, ranging from kids and adult fun runs and library storytimes to wine tastings and outdoor wine walks.
Join the Weekly Fun Runs and Children Activities
The weekly schedule kicks off on Thursday, Nov. 5, at Fleet Feet North Augusta, located at 210 Georgia Ave. A Kid’s Fun Run begins at 5 p.m., offering a 1-to-2-mile workout paired with games and activities. Organizers require that children under the age of 8 be accompanied by a parent or guardian, while kids over 8 must have an adult on-site for emergencies.
Later that evening at 6 p.m., the same location hosts a Thursday Fun Run spanning 2 to 5 miles. Participants must bring their own hydration and nutrition for before, during, and after the event. Runners are also advised to wear lights and reflective gear to ensure better visibility along the route.
Library Programs and Gourmet Tastings
The Nancy Carson Library, situated at 135 Edgefield Road, hosts Baby Bookworms for ages 0 to 2 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., featuring stories, songs, and bubbles. Story Sprouts follows for children ages 3 and up at 11:15 a.m., incorporating similar activities. The library's Lego Club meets at 4:30 p.m.
For adult residents, a First Friday Wine Tasting takes place at 5 p.m. at The Grove Gourmet Market, located at 509 Georgia Ave. Attendees can sample three curated wines paired with three thoughtfully selected bites for $10 per person. The tasted items will be available at a special discount during the event, and tastings are purchased on arrival without requiring prior reservations.
The North Augusta Beautification Foundation Wine Walk
The week’s events culminate on Saturday, Nov. 7, with the North Augusta Beautification Foundation Wine Walk at 6 p.m. Held at the Sharon Jones Amphitheater at 1009 Center St., the gathering features unlimited wine tastings, live music, and big-screen game viewing. Food and beer will also be available for purchase, and attendees receive a souvenir wine cup. Tickets are priced at $55 during November, and participants must be 21 or older.
