Hawaii Move Leads 27-Event PGA Tour Champions 2027 Calendar
The PGA Tour Champions released its 2027 schedule, setting up a 27-event season that opens with back-to-back stops in Hawaii and concludes with the Charles Schwab Cup Championship at a new home in Phoenix. Players across the 50-and-over circuit will compete for more than $70 million in total prize money spanning 18 states and three countries, according to the schedule details.
The most immediate change hits right at the start of the year. The Sony Championship Hawaii makes its PGA Tour Champions debut Jan. 10-16 at Waialae Country Club in Honolulu, stepping in after the longtime PGA Tour event was dropped from that circuit’s schedule following the 2026 season. The opening swing continues with the Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai on the Big Island.
“Hawaii has long been synonymous with PGA Tour golf, and we are looking forward to opening the season with back-to-back events in one of the world’s most stunning locales,” PGA Tour Champions President Miller Brady said.
Majors and International Stops Shape the Regular Season
The 24-event regular season maps out a demanding stretch of majors and international competition before the fall playoffs. The first of five senior majors, the Hoag Senior Players Championship, takes place March 25-28 at Newport Beach Country Club in California. April brings the Senior PGA Championship back to The Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Florida, from April 15-18.
May features the Regions Tradition at Greystone Golf & Country Club in Birmingham, Alabama, before the circuit heads to Oak Tree National in Edmond, Oklahoma, for the U.S. Senior Open from July 1-4. The course previously hosted the 1984 U.S. Amateur and the 1988 PGA Championship, alongside the 2014 U.S. Senior Open won by Colin Montgomerie.
In July, the circuit crosses the Atlantic for the ISPS Handa Senior Open at Royal Porthcawl in Wales, running July 22-25. The tour stays in Europe for the following week, visiting the Portugal Invitational hosted by Ernie Els at The Els Club Vilamoura.

The regular season concludes Oct. 15-17 with the SAS Championship in Cary, North Carolina.
Postseason Events Lead to New Competitive Model
The postseason opens with the Stifel Charity Classic in St. Louis from Oct. 22-24, followed by the Simmons Bank Championship in Little Rock, Arkansas. The official season finishes with the Charles Schwab Cup Championship moving from Phoenix Country Club to nearby Papago Golf Club.
Beyond 2027, the circuit’s evolution reflects broader structural changes across professional golf as the PGA Tour finalizes its new competitive model. Senior tour veteran Scott McCarron pointed to potential opportunities for the 50-and-over circuit as regular tour events shift.
“We might pick up some tournaments that don’t stay,” Scott McCarron told Golfweek. “Pick up some tour-caliber venues that make us stronger.”
PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp announced that the complete 2028 schedule will be unveiled during a live broadcast from tour headquarters in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
