Siddiq Yasin Clegg, a devoted father of seven who spent nearly two decades serving his community through state disability services, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, October 21, 2026. He was 43 years old.
Born on July 25, 1983, in Newburgh, New York, to Angela Clegg and Delonice Wilkins, Clegg eventually made Schenectady his permanent home. Over the years, that city became the backdrop for his deep roots, enduring friendships, and everyday routines.
Two Decades of Public Service
Away from his personal life, Clegg built a steady career dedicated to helping others. Following high school, he gave nearly 20 years of service to the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities through the Capital District DDSO.
When he wasn’t working, his time belonged to the people and simple pleasures he loved. Friends and family could often find him grilling, fishing, listening to music, watching sports, or out shopping for a new hat and matching sneakers. Yet, by all accounts, his true focal point was fatherhood.
He is survived by his seven children—Anyah Clegg, Nevaeh Clegg, Cam’ryn Clegg, Siddiq Clegg Jr., Delonice Clegg, Royce Clegg, and Renae Clegg—along with a bonus son, Isaiah Isaac. He also leaves behind his loving partner, Charlena Isaac; his parents; his grandmother, Bobbie Clegg; three sisters, Danielle Wilkins, Jaleesa Wilkins, and Jasmine Wilkins; a nephew, Alias Rodriguez; and a wide circle of extended family and friends.
Community Gathers to Celebrate the Life of Clegg
The community will gather to remember Clegg and celebrate his life at the end of the month. Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Cannon Funeral Home, located at 2020 Central Avenue in Colonie, New York. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at 12 p.m.
In lieu of traditional floral arrangements, the family has requested that direct contributions be directed to support his children via CashApp at the handle $LongliveSiddiq.
