Grand Jury Indicts 17-Year-Old in Deadly First Friday Shooting
A grand jury has indicted a 17-year-old suspect in connection with the October 2 shooting at the First Friday arts festival in downtown Las Vegas that left a 15-year-old boy dead and two other victims wounded, according to court records filed Friday.
Issac Manriquez faces a heavy array of felony charges, including one count of murder with the use of a deadly weapon with the intent to promote, further, or assist a criminal gang. He is also charged with two counts of battery with the use of a deadly weapon resulting in substantial bodily harm, alongside a single count of carrying a concealed explosive substance, firearm, pneumatic gun, or other dangerous or deadly weapon.
The violence erupted around 10:20 p.m. near South Main Street and West Charleston Boulevard. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers stationed nearby heard gunfire, rushed toward the crowd, and found multiple victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Investigators later identified the deceased teenager as 15-year-old Carth Onasi Jacobs-Rodgers.
Surveillance Footage Captures Suspect Shooting Victim During Fight
Police arrested Manriquez on October 6 and initially booked him into Clark County Juvenile Hall. Court documents reveal that Manriquez has a prior history within the juvenile justice system and had previously been placed on probation.
According to an arrest report obtained by 8 News Now, surveillance footage captured Manriquez engaged in a physical fight with Jacobs-Rodgers and another boy near a food truck. The video shows the confrontation moving toward nearby stairs, where Jacobs-Rodgers takes a few steps back before Manriquez raises his arm and fires.

Detectives stated that Manriquez admitted during questioning to being part of a well-known gang, claiming that another gang had the intention to fight his gang. He stated that an exchange of words and declaring where they were from preceded the physical altercation.

Manriquez remains in custody without bail. His arraignment is officially scheduled for November 12.
