WinnMed Named Des Moines Register Top Workplace for Second Year

WinnMed Claims Des Moines Register Top Workplace Honor for Second Year

For the second year in a row, WinnMed has earned a Top Workplace designation from the Des Moines Register, according to results from a recent staff satisfaction survey comparing businesses across the state. The accolade arrives as the regional healthcare provider finalizes a major multi-year capital project, bringing fresh attention to internal workplace culture amid physical expansion.

Tom Marquardt, D.P.M., chief medical officer, pointed to the daily collaboration among staff as the driving force behind the award. “This award is a reflection of the people who make WinnMed such a special place to provide and receive care,” Marquardt said. “Every day our providers, nurses, and staff work together with a shared commitment to our patients and communities. What stands out most is the way our team has embraced growth and change while remaining focused on delivering exceptional care. The culture we’ve built together is one of collaboration, compassion, and continuous improvement, and that’s what makes recognitions like this possible.”

Completing the Transforming Tomorrow Expansion

The workplace recognition coincides with the completion of Transforming Tomorrow, WinnMed’s multi-year, $50 million facility expansion and modernization project. Throughout construction and workflow redesign, employees participated directly in shaping the upgraded clinical environments and operational procedures.

Laurie Bulman, director of Human Resources, noted that WinnMed remains focused on making the facility a place where people want to build their careers as it has grown. “As WinnMed has grown, we have remained focused on making this a place where people want to build their careers,” Bulman said. “We are proud to attract talented individuals who are passionate about serving our communities, and equally proud of the many employees who have chosen to spend decades of their careers here. This recognition validates the efforts of our entire team to create a workplace where people can thrive.”
