U2 Announces 2027 UK and European Tour Dates With Ireland Finale Planned for 2028
Irish rock band U2 have unveiled the UK and European dates for their upcoming world tour, titled Carnaval de Luz Presents: The Greatest Show on Earth, while confirming to fans at home that homecoming shows are anticipated for 2028, rte.ie reported.
The 2027 European leg will kick off in Stockholm on April 26 at the Strawberry Arena with support from Wolf Alice, according to Evoke. From Sweden, the tour moves to Paris for two nights at the Stade de France, followed by Lisbon’s Estadio da Luz, two dates at the Johan Cruijff ArenA in Amsterdam, Berlin’s Olympiastadion, and two nights at Milan’s San Siro, Hotpress and Evoke reported. UK dates feature a two-night stand at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on June 18 and 19, noted the Limerick Leader. Additional dates for Spain are expected to be announced soon, according to rte.ie.
U2 Adds Latin American Dates for 2027 Tour
The group, consisting of Bono, The Edge, Larry Mullen Jnr, and Adam Clayton, previously announced that their world tour would launch with a series of concerts in Latin and South America in February 2027, the Limerick Leader reported. Due to high demand following the sellout of the first tranche of shows, additional performances have been scheduled in Mexico City on March 2, São Paulo on March 16, and Buenos Aires on March 27, with support from Beck, Hotpress and rte.ie stated. North American dates for 2027 will be announced in the coming weeks, according to rte.ie.
Tickets for the UK and European dates will be available for general sale starting at 10am on November 6, preceded by a number of presales beginning next Monday, November 2, for U2.com subscribers, rte.ie and Hotpress reported.
U2 Releases First New Album in Nine Years
The tour arrives in support of U2’s 16th studio album, Carnaval de Luz, which is scheduled for release on November 13, noted the Limerick Leader and Hotpress. Described by The Edge as a “messy, provocative, sacred collection of songs,” the 12-track record marks the band’s first album of new material in nine years, according to Hotpress and the Limerick Leader. The release coincides with the band’s 50th anniversary year, following special Dublin performances last month that included surprise appearances at their old school, Mount Temple Comprehensive School, and on top of Bewley’s on Grafton Street, Evoke reported.

Although initial European announcements did not include an Irish date, rte.ie reported that the band reassured fans that homecoming shows are firmly planned. Guitarist The Edge stated, “We can’t say too much about the next leg of The Greatest Show on Earth — we’re still figuring it out — but what we can say is, we’ll be wrapping it up in Ireland. There’s nowhere else we’d want to be for that party.”
Describing the production in a joint statement reported by Hotpress and Evoke, the band said, “Now that’s a throwdown. It’s a dare, to ourselves as much as anyone, to try and have the best night of anybody’s life. A bit of showman, a bit of shaman, a riot of colour, unreasonable guitar, bass and drums, and tunes you can hold onto. Because if people are gonna show up, we certainly are.”
