River Pointe Residential Community Reaches Final Construction Phase in Bridgeport, PA
The transformation of a sprawling riverside parcel in Montgomery County has entered its home stretch. Ground-up development at River Pointe Residential in Bridgeport, PA, which kicked off with heavy civil engineering back in 2022, is now culminating in the construction of its final phase of homes through 2025, according to phandc.net.
With a total project cost sitting at $50 million, this master-planned community on the banks of the scenic Schuylkill River brings 250 new residential units to the borough. Lennar homes within the development have seen strong buyer demand since construction transitioned from raw land preparation to home building in the summer of 2023.
Engineering the Waterfront Parcel
Before any foundations could be poured, the site demanded a massive civil engineering effort to tame the challenging terrain along the river. Managing the land parcel required moving and handling 625,000 cubic yards of earth, alongside aggressive rock and concrete crushing to size materials for reuse directly on site.
The utility infrastructure supporting the 250 units required extensive underground work across the property. Crews relocated roughly 3,000 linear feet of an existing sewer force main while installing approximately 9,500 linear feet of new water main, 10,500 linear feet of storm sewer lines, and 6,265 linear feet of new sanitary sewer lines.
To secure the steep waterfront grades and manage the site layout, workers installed three separate big block and MSE retaining walls. These structures stretch a combined 2,800 linear feet and span 58,000 square feet, complemented by comprehensive fencing and dry utility coordination alongside PECO, Verizon, and Comcast.
Residents Gain Access to Scenic Walking Trails and Gathering Spaces
Beyond the structural foundations and utility grids, the development prioritizes outdoor access and shared neighborhood spaces. Residents gain access to approximately 2,800 linear feet of a new scenic walking trail, complemented by natural surface trails winding through the grounds.
Community gathering spots feature multiple amenity areas equipped with a gazebo, a pergola, and extensive hardscaping. A robust landscaping plan ties the waterfront property together as the final phase wraps up construction.
