Mississippi Academy of Sciences Sets 91st Annual Meeting in Biloxi
The Mississippi Academy of Sciences has scheduled its 91st annual meeting for March 18 to March 19, 2027, at the Gulf Coast Coliseum and Convention Center in Biloxi, MSINBRE reported. Sponsored by Mississippi INBRE, the two-day gathering brings together researchers, educators, and students from across the region to present scientific papers, share addresses, and participate in specialized symposia and workshops.
Organized by scientific divisions, the meeting covers agriculture and plant sciences; cellular, molecular and developmental biology; chemistry and chemical engineering; geology and geography; health sciences; marine and atmospheric sciences; mathematics, computer science and statistics; microbiology and immunology; physics and engineering; psychology and behavioral neuroscience; science education; and zoology and entomology. Attendees can pick up meeting materials early at the registration table, which opens from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2027.
Mississippi Academy of Sciences Sets Registration Deadlines
According to registration guidelines published by the Mississippi Academy of Sciences via msacad.org, participants must complete membership and registration to attend any associated events. Fees can be paid online via credit card or electronic Stripe, or by requesting an invoice through msacademyofscience@gmail.com. Membership fees can also be mailed to the Mississippi Academy of Sciences post office box in Jackson, Mississippi.
The pre-registration deadline falls on January 20, 2027. Presenting authors face a stricter timeline, requiring registration by February 1, 2027, to prevent their abstracts from being removed from the final program. Cancellation requests submitted in writing to the program committee by 5:00 p.m. CST on January 20, 2027, qualify for a refund minus a 25 percent administrative fee. Requests received after that date are non-refundable.

On-site student registration featuring an abstract and complimentary one-year membership costs $125.00, while regular member on-site registration with a complimentary one-year membership runs $250.00. For individuals who wish to maintain their standing without attending the annual meeting, standalone memberships are available. A one-year student membership costs $35.00, and a regular one-year membership costs $60.00.
