November First Friday All Night Vigil Scheduled at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church
Catholics and community members in New York City will gather this coming week for an overnight service dedicated to traditional November devotions. According to archny.org, the Archdiocese of New York has scheduled its November First Friday All Night Vigil for Friday, November 6th, taking place at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church located at 230 East 90th Street in Manhattan.
The nine-hour observance focuses specifically on praying for the Holy Souls in Purgatory during the traditional month of remembrance. The schedule opens at 8:00 PM with the Exposition of the Most Holy Eucharist and opportunities for Confessions, leading directly into the Opening Holy Mass at 9:00 PM.
Schedule of Overnight Devotions and Services
Following the opening liturgy, a visiting or assigned priest will deliver a brief spiritual reflection centered on the Holy Souls in Purgatory. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will then continue uninterrupted through the early morning hours.
The structured itinerary features a rotating series of devotions and traditional prayers designed to guide the overnight participants. The devotional lineup includes:

- Special devotions to the Sacred Heart
- Litanies and chaplets
- Scriptural rosaries and traditional hymns
- Stations of the Cross and Holy Face devotions
- Dedicated prayers for priests and the Divine Mercy chaplet
- Extended periods of silent, personal prayer
Organizers have invited all attendees to bring specific prayer intentions, including the written names of deceased loved ones, to be remembered corporately throughout the night. Practical accommodations are also built into the schedule, with free refreshments set to be served at Midnight and again at 3:30 AM to support those keeping watch through the night.
The overnight vigil will officially conclude on Saturday morning, November 7th, beginning with Benediction followed immediately by the Closing Holy Mass at 5:00 AM.
