Dover Precision Components Consolidates Natural Gas Aftermarket Operations
Dover Precision Components (DPC) has officially launched a new business unit, Natural Gas Solutions & Services (NGSS), aimed at streamlining its aftermarket presence in the United States. This structural shift brings the U.S. aftermarket operations of FW Murphy and Cook Compression under a single, unified management umbrella. While the two brands will continue to operate as separate entities with their own distinct identities, they will now report to a centralized leadership team headed by Levent Caglar.
The move marks a strategic deepening of DPC’s footprint in the energy sector, building directly upon the company’s 2023 acquisition of FW Murphy. Marcell Ulrichs, president of Dover Precision Components, framed the integration as a direct response to the evolving needs of the U.S. natural gas compression market. By aligning these operations, DPC intends to provide a more cohesive service experience for customers managing complex equipment lifecycles.
FW Murphy specializes in engine and compressor control systems, as well as monitoring technologies that are essential for natural gas compression applications. In contrast, Cook Compression focuses on reciprocating compressor components, including valves, sealing technologies and other equipment, alongside aftermarket repair and maintenance services.
Natural Gas and Electricity Demand Drives Infrastructure Growth
Levent Caglar, who now leads the NGSS unit, pointed to several key growth catalysts that informed the company’s decision. These include the growing natural gas demand, the development of LNG infrastructure, and the increasing electricity requirements driven by data centers and artificial intelligence applications.
Caglar emphasized that the new platform is designed to help operators achieve three primary goals:
- Improve overall equipment performance
- Lower operational costs
- Strengthen safety, reliability, and environmental outcomes
While the company intends to use these combined strengths, the immediate operational plan remains focused on the existing business units. The announcement did not detail any planned changes to current engineering, manufacturing, or aftermarket service facilities. The company did not identify specific integrated products or services planned under NGSS.

Dover Precision Components, a subsidiary of the Dover Corp, has positioned itself as a provider of critical components for rotating and reciprocating machinery. By bringing FW Murphy and Cook Compression under the NGSS banner, the company is creating a specialized vertical.
