Frankfort Boys and Bailey Ferguson Dominate West Virginia Region 2 Championships

Frankfort’s cross country teams delivered a commanding performance at the West Virginia Region 2 Class AA championships held Saturday at South Harrison High School in Lost Creek, West Virginia. The Frankfort boys captured the team title, while junior Bailey Ferguson set a new school record to lead the Falcons in the girls’ race, according to local sports reporting.

Frankfort Wins Boys Team Championship

Frankfort ran away with the boys’ team championship, finishing with a remarkably low score of 20 points. Braxton finished a distant second with 68 points.

Ferguson Sets School Record in Girls’ Race

In the girls’ competition, Bailey Ferguson rewrote the record books for Frankfort. Ferguson clocked a new school-record time, dominating the field to finish roughly a minute ahead of her nearest competitors.

The Lincoln duo of Adalyn Milenes and Raley Cochran finished second and third. Their performance helped the Cougars claim the girls’ team title with 29 points, while Frankfort secured second place with 44 points.

Hailey McBride joined Ferguson in the top group for Frankfort, placing sixth. Both Ferguson and McBride earned All-Region honors.

Hannah Amdestead and Charli Hall were the next Frankfort finishers, taking 13th and similar places, respectively.
