Time is running out to visit the 8-acre Maryland Corn Maze in Anne Arundel County as the popular seasonal attraction prepares to close its gates for the year during its final weekend on Nov. 7–8, wbaltv.com reported. Located in Gambrills, the massive farm attraction has featured a “Toy Story” theme for its current season, allowing visitors to navigate paths alongside Woody, Jessie and Buzz.
The Final Weekend
Visitors traversing the maze can expect the experience to take about 45 minutes. While the crops may not be as lush as possible due to the drought in Maryland, owner Carol Paul noted that guests can enjoy trivia games, different questions, and clues along the way.
“You go in the corn. You get lost, hopefully. Because that’s the fun of it, and you can find all sorts of trivia games, different questions. You can have fun with your friends and even (gives) clues along the way to find your way,” Paul told WBAL-TV 11 News.
Participants can also scan a QR code and follow along on their phone. According to Paul, finding nine codes throughout the maze will start to slowly reveal the maze walking through. Spotters are stationed in the middle of the field to help when folks get lost, and the upcoming closing weekend marks the only time that dogs are welcome.
Farm Activities Include Pop-Culture Maze Themes
Beyond the main maze, visitors have access to plenty of other activities, including hayrides, the corn pits farm, a playground, food trucks, pumpkin picking and a petting zoo.
“It’s farm play (only) minutes away. You don’t have to take a whole day to come to Maryland Corn Maze,” Paul told WBAL-TV 11 News, adding that it is rewarding to watch time stop for smiling visitors. The attraction has a history of elaborate pop-culture designs, having featured “Wicked” last year, alongside previous themes such as Taylor Swift and “Harry Potter,” which was a beloved favorite done two years in a row.
