Yellowjackets Stung by Seattle Pacific Surge in 4-0 GNAC Defeat

The Montana State University Billings women’s soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision to Seattle Pacific University in Great Northwest Athletic Conference play. The loss brings the Yellowjackets’ record to 2-10-5 overall and 2-9-2 in conference action, while Seattle Pacific moves to 10-5-2 overall and 7-4-2 in the GNAC.

Despite the final scoreline, MSUB generated significant offensive activity throughout the match. The squad finished with 18 total shots and eight shots on goal, marking the team’s highest shot volume in a single game since September 3. Cesia Swain paced the attack with five total attempts and two shots on target, earning Player of the Game honors. Jordyn Daigle added four shots with two on frame, while Vivian Gaither, Millie Bamer, Macee Abraham, and Kolbi Kiblen each placed a shot on goal. Goalkeeper Tenley Leffler recorded four saves for the Yellowjackets.

Offensive Pressure Met by Falcon Counterpunches

The match remained tight through the opening minutes, with the two sides combining for just one shot in the first ten minutes. Seattle Pacific then seized momentum in the 14th minute, launching a flurry of four shots in ninety seconds that culminated when Raeah Raymondo finished calmly following a cross into the box.

MSUB regrouped and pushed forward before halftime, tallying four shots and two efforts on target. However, any hopes of an equalizer were dealt a severe blow early in the second half when an unfortunate own goal doubled the Falcons’ advantage.

The Yellowjackets responded by pressing hard in the final 45 minutes, outshooting SPU 14-4 and holding a 6-4 edge in shots on goal during the second half. Seattle Pacific weathered the pressure and capitalized on defensive opportunities when Maddie Cooke converted two crosses into the box down the stretch to seal the victory.

Season Finale on Tap

MSUB concludes its 2026 regular season road slate with a 2-4-2 away record. The Yellowjackets wrap up the regular season schedule on Saturday, October 31, hosting Western Oregon University at Yellowjacket Soccer Field. Kickoff is set for 11:00 AM, with a senior recognition ceremony scheduled for 15 minutes prior to the match.
