Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham revealed during an appearance on the podcast “This Past Weekend w/ Theo Von” that she believes the FBI is monitoring approximately 20 individuals who have stalked her.
Cunningham, who has completed six WNBA seasons, linked the increase in “crazy people” and stalkers to the league’s massive growth in popularity and her own increased visibility on television. While noting that gaining fans is a positive outcome, she told Von that the presence of stalkers is a “negative side of things that people don’t think about.”
Kevin Singh Faces Charges for Stalking Cunningham
One individual, 49-year-old Kevin Singh of Indiana, was arrested on June 24 and faces a misdemeanor harassment charge along with felony charges for intimidation and stalking. An arrest affidavit states that Singh sent numerous messages to Cunningham on X and, in September 2025, delivered a package to the Fever’s arena containing a letter and a T-shirt sprayed with men’s cologne.
The affidavit further notes that Cunningham told investigators the behavior led her to stay home more often and caused her to have nightmares. Singh was held in Marion County Jail with bail set at $40,000, and a judge recently denied his request to revoke or alter that bail.
Cunningham Sees Rising Profile and Security Concerns
Cunningham’s increased profile has coincided with the rise of stars like Paige Bueckers, Angel Reese, and teammate Caitlin Clark. Cunningham has specifically seen her popularity grow as Clark’s protector on the court, as well as through her public statements to ESPN regarding the protection of biological girls in women’s sports and locker rooms.
The FBI declined to comment on Cunningham’s claim that they are watching multiple people on her behalf. A jury trial for Kevin Singh is scheduled for January.
