Arkansas Football Hospitality Impresses 2028 Prospects Covington and Shannon During Missouri Game
A 78.5-inch wingspan and a welcoming town greeted Keagan Covington on his trip to Fayetteville. A class of 2028 defensive lineman from Knoxville Catholic was among two prospects visiting Arkansas football on Saturday for the Missouri game at Reynolds Razorback Stadium.
Covington, a 6-4, 270-pound consensus 3-star prospect with the ability to contend for 4-star status before high school, felt an immediate sense of comfort in Northwest Arkansas.
The town around Fayetteville is so great, even the people who didn’t know I was a recruit were amazing,
Covington said. The entire town gives me a back at home vibe and that’s great because college is your second home, but it felt like my real home.
That hospitality began the moment he stepped off the plane. Restaurant patrons even paused their own meals to help Covington and his group read a local menu. His recruitment reflects that national attention, with scholarship offers spanning Arkansas, Michigan, Penn State, Florida, Tennessee, Oregon, Missouri, Kentucky, Ole Miss, North Carolina, Wisconsin, and numerous others after the Hogs extended an offer on May 8.

Building Trust on the Defensive Line
Beyond the local atmosphere, Covington has taken notice of the coaching staff’s vision under Razorback run game coordinator and defensive line coach Kynjee’ Cotton and defensive line coach Landius Wilkerson.
What stood out is the plan that Arkansas has and the intentions they have to make this team great,
Covington said. Coach Wilks and coach Cotton have most certainly made their guys buy in and trust in them and how well they can coach.
Hayden Shannon Secures Offer During Unique Campus Visit
Offensive lineman Hayden Shannon made the trip to Fayetteville from Monroe, Iowa, and left campus with a scholarship offer from the Razorbacks. Standing at 6-4 and 275 pounds, Shannon arrived with offers from Iowa State, Kansas State, Kansas, Nebraska, and Minnesota.
The visit provided an opportunity to connect directly with run game coordinator and offensive line coach Jeff Myers and offensive line coach Marcus Johnson.
The hospitality was great there,
Shannon said. Coach Myers and Coach Johnson were great to talk to and get to meet them in person. The stadium was very cool and it was definitely a unique place.
Shannon, rated as a 3-star recruit by two of the three major services and accompanied on the trip by his parents, pointed specifically to the distinct architecture and layout of Reynolds Razorback Stadium. I would say just how it’s built and looks impressive,
he noted, adding that he is looking to make a return trip to Arkansas in the spring.
