Production begins in November in the Al-Ahsa region for the heritage television series Muhaisen, starring Saudi actors Abdulmohsen Al-Nimer and Ibrahim Al-Hassawi under Syrian director Basil Al-Khatib for a Ramadan 2027 premiere.
The heritage drama draws its storyline from the history and traditions of Al-Ahsa in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province. Production plans centre on recreating the atmosphere of old alleys, historic houses, and stories that the region is filled with. The project is backed by the Saudi Broadcasting Authority, which is managing production for the upcoming broadcast season.
A poster circulated widely on social media and entertainment platforms featuring both lead actors. Alongside Al-Nimer and Al-Hassawi, the series cast includes actors Sana Bakr Younis and Samir Al-Nasser.
Filming Begins in November
Principal photography will begin in November, setting up a sustained production window ahead of the Ramadan 2027 premiere schedule.
A writing workshop penned the script, translating Al-Ahsa’s historical environment into a serialized television format. Director Basil Al-Khatib takes charge of the visual direction, guiding a production crew working under the Saudi Broadcasting Authority.
Actors Reunite for Al-Ahsa Drama
The pairing of Al-Nimer and Al-Hassawi brings together two of the most prominent faces in Gulf drama. Their collaboration recalls previous heritage projects. Most notably, they worked on the 2024 Ramadan drama Khyoot Al-Maazeeb, which explored the historical boom of the traditional bisht cloak-weaving industry in Al-Ahsa more than six decades ago.
