TikTok creator Michella Giunta spent four years lifting weights and dropped 20 pounds since January, yet her waistline refused to budge, leaving her looking nine months pregnant despite intense exercise.
That frustrating physical mismatch led to a discovery, where Giunta revealed that an 18-pound ovarian cyst was the actual cause of her enlarged abdomen rather than any fitness failure.
Doctors Ignored Giunta's Persistent Abdominal Swelling
For years, Giunta brought her persistent abdominal swelling to medical professionals. Each consultation resulted in standard, repetitive advice: drink more water, hit the gym harder, and take laxatives.
That daily reality involved constant discomfort and a stomach that extended outward even when she was not actively working out. Her routine tracking at the gym captured a midsection that refused to flatten despite strict weightlifting regimens and sustained weight loss.
The CT Scan Discovery
Everything changed when a medical imaging scan revealed the real culprit. Doctors found an ovarian cyst measuring 35 centimeters long, 24 centimeters wide, and 14 centimeters thick, weighing just over 18 pounds and holding more than eight liters of fluid.
The massive growth had pushed her internal organs upward toward her ribcage, occupying nearly her entire abdominal cavity. Giunta later described the mass as the size of a massive watermelon, noting that she felt like she was roughly 20 percent tumor.

I have been lifting for years, fighting this tumor. So, it’s just really squished in there, but unfortunately, it’s real,
she said, adding, So, honestly, I think I’m some kind of superhuman.
Surgery and the Aftermath
Giunta ultimately underwent a surgical procedure to remove the cyst, which also required the removal of her left ovary and left fallopian tube. Surgeons additionally discovered endometriosis all over her stomach.
Following the successful operation, Giunta shared her relief with followers, stating she finally felt like she was experiencing life without the constant weight and pain for the first time. The discovery also sparked heavy online criticism from viewers questioning why it took years of complaints before an imaging scan identified the growth.

Party
The bakery decided that final verdict was twins.
To be fair, my tumor is pushing up my organs as much as a full-term pregnancy with twins,
she joked about the cake.
