A woman died in a strike on Kyiv’s central Shevchenkivskyi district on Monday afternoon, as reported by the Kyiv city military administration. The attack damaged the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, adding to the capital’s list of damaged cultural landmarks. In the Kyiv region, Russian drone attacks killed four people and wounded eight. Russian forces also targeted a pharmaceutical company and several gas stations in the city.

A drone hit an office center in central Dnipro on Monday, killing three people and wounding at least 12, local authorities said, as the strikes inflicted heavy civilian casualties during working hours beyond the capital. In Kharkiv, a nine-story apartment building was struck, wounding 43 people, including 11 children, according to Mayor Ihor Terekhov. In northern Ukraine’s Chernihiv region, a Sunday evening drone strike on a residential area injured four people, including two teenage girls, said Viacheslav Chaus, head of the regional military administration.

Ukraine’s Third Army Corps reported capturing another 20 square miles in the Donetsk region as part of an offensive code-named Operation Vivaldi, bringing its total to 68 square miles recaptured since the push began several months ago on the front lines. The corps stated that it converted Soviet-era BTR-60 armored personnel carriers into kamikaze vehicles and deployed ground robots to breach strong Russian fortifications. Meanwhile, Russia’s Defense Ministry stated that its troops captured the villages of Novovodiane in Donetsk and Ulanove in the northern Sumy region.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov addressed the U.N. General Assembly on Saturday, claiming that Europe was attempting to thwart peace talks favored by the Trump administration.
