Miami Heat Host Vice City Night for GTA VI Release

On November 18 at the Kaseya Center, the Miami Heat and Rockstar Games will transform the arena into Vice City for a game against the Milwaukee Bucks, featuring a custom court and reimagined uniforms on the eve of the Grand Theft Auto VI worldwide release, broadcast live on ESPN and Local 10 in South Florida.

The crossover bridges sports entertainment and blockbuster gaming culture in a partnership timed directly to the upcoming November 19 launch of Grand Theft Auto VI. Dubbed A Night in Vice City, the promotional event will see the franchise temporarily drop its hometown identity during the home matchup against Milwaukee.

Helicopters Lift Neon Sign Onto Kaseya Center Roof

Workers used heavylift helicopters to airlift structural components onto the roof of the arena, erecting a massive 4,690-square-foot neon sign reading Welcome to Vice City above the Biscayne Bay waterfront.

The temporary rooftop installation, which glows directly beneath commercial flight paths to greet travelers landing at Miami International Airport, was approved under a $975,000 marketing agreement between Miami-Dade County and Rockstar Games. Local officials confirmed that the neon display will remain active on the arena through 2027.

Yesterday, the top of the Kaseya Center was lit up to usher in the collaboration between Rockstar and Miami’s home team. The fictional setting of the game, Vice City, is heavily inspired by the culture, geography, and neon aesthetics of Miami. In-game, the Kaseya Center is dubbed the Sahara Arena.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Faces His Former Team on Vice City Court

The game marks the first time star center Giannis Antetokounmpo will play against the Milwaukee Bucks since being traded to Miami during the offseason alongside Bobby Portis in exchange for a package headlined by Tyler Herro. Spearheaded by Adebayo alongside Antetokounmpo, the Heat stand out among multiple competitive squads within a densely packed Eastern Conference. Their regular season begins October 21 with a home game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

For one night only, the team will play on a never-before-seen court featuring specialized Vice City hardwood and matching reimagined alternate uniforms. The franchise has previously leaned into regional neon aesthetics through its popular Miami Vice jersey lines inspired by 1980s television.

During NBA Media Day, journeyman center Steven Adams sent a warning to journalists and fans, cautioning them to expect some poor play this November.

Fans Buy GTA Apparel Ahead of November 19 Release

Fans looking to secure memorabilia ahead of the game can already purchase items from a dedicated GTA x Miami Heat clothing collection available through the team’s webstore and physical locations.

The event leads directly into the global release of Grand Theft Auto 6 on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles.

Grand Theft Auto V now shares the spotlight with its upcoming successor, whose reveal trailer has pulled in 296 million views. Video game enthusiasts have waited since 2013, when Grand Theft Auto V was released. Rockstar publicly confirmed in 2022 that development of the next entry in the series was underway, and the latest age rating suggests a more explicit game than its predecessor, singling out sex scenes.

Consumers pay for the value that you bring to them, and our job is to charge way way way less of the value delivery.
