Demari Brown Sentenced to 45 Years for Montgomery Village Murder

Montgomery County Judge Hands 45-Year Sentence in Fatal Car Shooting A Montgomery County judge sentenced Demari Brown, 21, to 45 years in prison for the 2025 killing of 20-year-old Henry Krishawn Gilbert, whose body was found in a running Honda in Gaithersburg. Brown, of Montgomery Village, pleaded guilty in May to first-degree murder for the crime, which involved Gilbert being shot in the head while seated in his vehicle. The Honda had hit a curb and still had its engine running when police discovered the body on April 26, 2025, according to court documents.

Brown was also ordered to serve five years of supervised release after his prison term. A co-defendant, Jorden Hungerford, 20, was found guilty of first-degree murder, armed robbery, and firearm offenses in the case. Hungerford, who had posed as a female friend of Gilbert on social media to lure him to the location, is set to be sentenced on Friday, Nov. 6, and faces a potential life sentence. The investigation revealed that Brown and Hungerford robbed and killed Gilbert after luring him with a request to buy $70 worth of marijuana, per court records.

Co-Defendant’s Upcoming Sentencing

Jorden Hungerford, 20, is scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 6 for his role in the crime. He was found guilty of first-degree murder, armed robbery, and firearm offenses. The Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office reported that Hungerford had used social media to impersonate a female friend of Gilbert, tricking him into meeting at the location where the shooting took place. Brown and Hungerford were both arrested following the investigation, which led to Brown’s guilty plea in May.
